“It's people like you who can give this Titanic of a culture that 1/8 of one degree shift, miles before the future could be known or imagined, that just might mean we don't hit ice. Or, if we do, that there will be enough lifeboats.”

experience containers

Creative, experimental,& experiential SPaces that show how to be who we need

I believe in the power of meaningful connections and authentic relationships. When we have those in our lives and communities, so much can change.

But we often lack spaces that develop our skills and encourage us to practice embodying the connections we need.

So I create them.

  • I’ve been conceptualizing, designing, and facilitating experimental spaces that elevate how we connect and explore possibilities for what we can create through our relationships for a very long time. Several ideas started as personal gatherings and birthday parties.

Now, as I channel my will to play and experiment more publicly, to learn with others and move from a place of liberation, I ground myself with two pieces of wisdom:

    1. Create what you know you need.

    2. Do it in the energy you wish to create.

I’ve pitched and produced numerous projects that combine the nature of embodied experiences, learning, vulnerability, intimacy, sharing, healing, friendship, community, and forming deeper bonds through conscious expressions of our freedom.

If this resonates with what you long for and need, I hope you’ll consider joining one of my containers.

  • For the Love of Strangers is an innovative and highly-interactive community experience. It animates possibilities for being with others by building a hyper-local culture of connection.

Through experiment and experience, “For the Love of Strangers” provides a generative container for connecting in spontaneously rich and uncommon ways.

Each show focuses on a theme and runs something like a 90-minute story-sharing space blended with small group think tanks.

I share some of my Best Worst Ideas for meaningfully connecting with others (most of which I’ve actually done). Audience members briefly dialogue with each other as they workshop the idea (hopefully making it even better and worth trying again).

Refreshing, vulnerable, provocative, and thoughtful, the goal is for participants to leave with something to talk about and more to think about, while feeling inspired to practice meaningfully connecting in their own lives. (Yes, it’s meta). Of course, we also have a remarkably fun and interesting time.

    February - December, 2025

“For the Love of Strangers” runs every second Friday of the month from 7:00-8:30 pm at the Visit Fort Collins Welcome Center.

Check my calendar for more details.

  • “Liberation is Local” is a weekly, facilitated space for shared learning about how to move from a place of liberation. (Yes, even in these conditions.)

Every Sunday, local community members meet in a space of shared values, visions, and commitments.

Through content and dialogue, we deepen our understanding of what liberation looks and feels like. Our purpose is to expand our capacities for practicing liberation right here, right now, in our everyday lives.

I created this space in May of 2024 and am continually amazed at how much we evolve in our process. It is rich, loving, emergent, sincere, thoughtful, generous, and powerful.

Even if you can’t join “Liberation is Local” in person, now you can follow along and process with others. Join the Substack group chat to get my weekly pages for Liberation is Local.

You can also add Liberation is Local to your calendar.

  • I’m frequently creating and offering new spaces to connect, like pop-ups for free philosophical support or virtual coloring sessions to learn more about Cutie Wisdom.

Some are casual, unstructured online spaces. For instance, Open Office Hours and virtual Q&A’s are opportunities to share reflections and ideas.

Many are follow-up spaces that emerge out of another container, like one-off gatherings to read essays I reference in For the Love of Strangers, or a party in the park to celebrate the anniversary of Liberation is Local.

  • Are you interested in hosting an event that is…different, in a really good way?

Reach out if you’re interested in recreating one of these experiences for your community, organization, or group!

If you want to collaborate on a new idea, I’d love to hear from you!

The edge of weirdness your event brings to our community (or, rather, the weirdness you bring to this event) is delightful! It’s especially fun to watch people discover For the Love of Strangers, and its charm, for themselves.

  • "Mind blown! You certainly bring something exhilaratingly fresh to human interaction, and I strongly believe this is what needs to happen in our age – how we can create spaces (literally, or in the moment right where we stand) where more nourishing interactions will reliably feel and be safe. Wow! you're grabbing this one by the horns!"

Audience member’s response to “For the Love of Strangers”

  • "What most resonates is how innovative you are! (I still don't know what categories to use to describe this event!) Your openness made the four people at my table all feel like we already knew and trusted each other, and we were eager to share our impressions. It was like we had planned to be there together. Everyone was so likable and interesting and candid and authentic."

Audience member’s response to “For the Love of Strangers”

  • "This experience is so unlike standard US-American interactions and so nourishing. I could have spent another 2 hours there, but at the same time, I was saturated with the novelty and depth of it all."

Audience member’s response to “For the Love of Strangers”

  • "I never imagined something like what you've created could even exist. I never knew I would be so enthralled by such a [what to call it? It's not an event and it's not a gathering or a party or a speech or a presentation or a production. Therefore, I didn't know to even wish for such a thing to exist. And “ta-da!” it just showed up. Where did you materialize from?"

Audience member’s response to “For the Love of Strangers”

  • "Thank you so much for all the time you've put into crafting this experience/phenomenon, how much of yourself you pour into it, and your generosity in offering it without any way to know the response or outcome, and doing this month after month."

Public Philosophy

Why am I compelled to write? Because the writing saves me from this complacency I fear. Because I have no choice. Because I must keep the spirit of my revolt and myself alive. Because the world I create in writing compensates for what the real world does not give me. By writing, I put order in the world, give it a handle so I can grasp it. I write because life does not appease my appetites and hunger. I write to record what others erase when I speak, to rewrite the stories others have written about me, about you. To become more intimate with myself and you.”

– Gloria Anzaldúa
